The OSHA forklift standard states that “battery charging installations shall be located in areas designated for that purpose. Furthermore, “Facilities shall be provided for flushing and neutralizing spilled electrolyte, for fire protection, for protecting charging apparatus from damage by trucks, and for adequate ventilation for dispersal of fumes from gassing batteries. This means you can’t just place your charging station on the floor. You must provide protection for the forklift battery charging station by elevation or some other device. You can do that by elevating the charging unit off of the floor with our Wall Mount Charging Bracket.
